Home renovation in the Nederlands

About This Project

This interior design renovation project, located in the heart of Haarlem, brings together the charm of the past with the comfort of modern living. The building’s facade was carefully preserved to maintain the historical character of the property, while the interior has been transformed into a warm and inviting space that blends vintage elements with mid-century modern style.

As you step inside, the first thing you’ll notice is the beautiful balance between old and new. The original floor, lovingly restored, offers a glimpse into the building’s past, while the warm tones of the walls and furniture create a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The use of indirect lighting throughout the space enhances this warmth, creating soft, ambient light that complements the textures and colors of the furniture.

A standout feature of this project is the newly designed terrace, extending the living space outdoors. This area provides a serene escape in the city center, perfect for relaxing or entertaining guests. The terrace has been thoughtfully designed with vintage-inspired furniture, harmonizing with the overall aesthetic of the interior.

The choice of mid-century modern furniture adds sophistication and timeless appeal to the space. Carefully curated vintage items are strategically placed to add character and create a sense of history, while maintaining a contemporary feel. The result is a seamless blend of the old and the new, offering a functional, stylish, and deeply comfortable living environment in one of Haarlem’s most desirable locations.

In this project I worked closely with an architect so constructional needs and creative ideas came together.
